CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Thanks to advancements in technology, online educational programs provide the same academic quality and intensity as campus-based equivalents, with the added convenience of flexibility and round-the-clock access to course material. Striving to meet the needs of students from all backgrounds, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi continues to increase online program offerings at an affordable price which is why the Island University has been ranked by affordablecollegesonline.org and collegechoice.net as 34th out of 47 colleges and 22nd out of 25 colleges, respectively in the list of “2016 - 2017 Best Online Colleges in Texas.”

“Students can earn one of several fully online degrees or certificates from our Island University,” said Dr. Lauren Cifuentes, Director of Distance Education. “Such opportunities include an MBA or a MS in Geographic Information Science, Instructional Technology, Reading, Kinesiology, or one of several award winning nursing degrees.”

For prospective students however, there is the challenge of finding the right school that fits all of their needs. Accreditation, affordability and the quality of education are often major concerns when selecting an institution of higher education. Cifuentes believes the benefits of an online education to full-time working professionals, who may not be able to participate in traditional face-to-face learning, are immeasurable.

“Online education continues to garner a huge influx of enrollment as the world inches closer to digitalization,” explained Cifuentes. “Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is one institution that has been able to draw on the effective use of technology to ensure optimum satisfaction for both current and prospective students.”
