Island University’s Furgason Bravo! Series Tickets Now On Sale

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Tickets are now on sale for the 2017-2018 Gloria and Robert R. Furgason Bravo! Series for the Performing Arts, hosted at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi’s Performing Arts Center. This three-part series will feature Michael Martin Murphey’s Cowboy Christmas Concert, the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra and a trumpet recital by Craig Morris. All concerts will be at 7:30 p.m.


  • Michael Martin Murphey’s Cowboy Christmas Concert – Sunday, Dec. 3 2017

For the 13th consecutive year, the award-winning Michael Martin Murphey, “singing cowboy poet,” returns with his unique “Cowboy Christmas Concert.” Murphey is the number one, best-selling singer/songwriter of American Cowboy Music and the world’s most respected singer/songwriters in the Pop and Country-Western field.

  • The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra – Friday, Feb. 2, 2018

The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra continues to successfully tour the country since their original founding in 1930s. Nancy Knorr, lead singer with the Pied Pipers, will star as their featured vocalist. With the elegance and sound of the 1940’s, Knorr will recreate a tribute to the legendary Helen O’Connell with her own style and vocal ease.  

  • Craig Morris, Trumpet Recital – Friday, Feb. 23, 2018

Craig Morris emerged onto the international classical music scene by winning the prestigious position of Principal Trumpet in 2001’s Chicago Symphony Orchestra. As a soloist, Morris has been featured with the San Francisco Symphony, the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music, the Beijing Modern Music Festival and the Sacramento Symphony.
