Wisner addresses the audience.

“Being chosen as the commencement speaker is one of the highest honors that I believe any graduate can achieve,” Wisner said. “My fellow Islanders graduating in 2022 are already successful and have a strong foundation. With that strong foundation in place, I intend my message to empower them to continue learning and growing, to show up as their best version every day – not only for themselves but also for their loved ones and for the community they serve.”

The ceremony also includes five Outstanding Islander Graduates who have been selected for their individual achievements by the TAMU-CC Office of the Provost. They include:

  • Josephine Arnold – College of Nursing and Health Sciences
  • Felicite Galvan – College of Science and Engineering
  • Dustin Hernandez – College of Liberal Arts
  • Ericka Ledesma – College of Education and Human Development
  • Emma Morrow – College of Business

“Commencement is a celebration of students’ hard work and dedication to their education and their future,” said Dr. Clarenda Phillips, TAMU-CC Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. “Every graduate represents hope, achievement, and promise for themselves, their families, and their communities. As we come together to commemorate the success of our Spring 2022 graduates, we are so excited to see everything they will accomplish throughout their lives because of the time they spent here at the Island University.”

The ceremony is free and open to the public and does not require tickets for entrance. Seating for guests is available on a first-come, first-serve basis and arena doors will open one hour prior to each ceremony.

For those who are unable to attend, both ceremonies will be live-streamed at tamucc.edu. For more information, visit commencement.tamucc.edu.
