What's Kamala Harris REAL Political Record? [nVWY1ZD1Bw3]

A new nominee for the Democratic ticket just dropped, and the party has almost entirely coalesced around the candidacy of Vice president Harris. Usually in a primary there’s plenty of time to scrutinize the candidates, but this time around we’ve skipped all the steps. Some might remember her 2020 campaign and the criticisms of her from back then, but it’s been quite a while and we could use a refresher. Prior to joining the Senate, Kamala served as District Attorney in San Francisco and then Attorney General of California. As DA, she was most criticized for two things: she led an effort to prosecute students for truancy, and criticized SF’s sanctuary city policies by coordinating with immigration agencies like ICE to deport undocumented migrants. As California AG, she went after banks for unfair lending policies, for profit universities, and oil companies for pollution. She also supported efforts to introduce implicit bias trainings to California police departments and made Cali the first state in the Union to require body cameras for police. In the 2020 campaign, she ran well to Biden’s left on just about everything; her platform included a phased in Medicare-for-all plan and cosponsored the Green New Deal. A mixed bag but we’ll take it?
