In this video, we’re going to take a look at some of the benefits of a ketogenic diet for people who are underweight. Keto and intermittent fasting are not only an excellent combination to help you lose weight, but to get healthy as well. A ketogenic diet has many health benefits including the following: •Increases energy levels •Decreases the need for sleep •Anti-aging properties •Decreases inflammation •Improves cognitive function •Improves focus and memory •Elevates mood If you’re underweight on keto, start with 3 meals per day, eventually working towards 2 meals per day. Ensure that your meals contain plenty of fat and you will not lose weight. This will allow your body to burn dietary fat instead of your own fat. It’s often thought that keto and intermittent fasting may not be appropriate if you’re underweight, pregnant, or nursing. The truth is, a ketogenic diet can be a healthy choice for everyone, including children. If you’re pregnant or nursing, keto is a great option, but you may want to avoid intermittent fasting to ensure that you’re getting enough nutrients.
