The benign enlargement of the prostate gland is common in men as they age and it sometimes causes lower urinary-tract symptoms. There is a panoply of options, medicinal and surgical, for treating BPH to alleviate these symptoms, but not every medication or surgical option works in every person's case, and most of the options have the potential to cause side effects.
