There has recently been a huge interest in CBD oil for its many therapeutic benefits. In this video, we will go through how CBD oil actually works. So how does THC and CBD work and why does THC have psychoactive effects and CBD doesn’t. Well in the body, we have the endocannabinoid system. This consists of two G-protein-coupled receptors called cannabinoid type 1 receptors and cannabinoid type 2 receptors. CB1 receptors are found in the central and peripheral nervous system with most of them being in the hippocampus and amygdala in the brain. So CB1 receptors are primarily found in the brain and mainly effect mood. CB2 receptors are found in our immune cells, lymphoid tissue and peripheral nerve terminals. So CB2 receptors are primarily found in the body and mainly effect the immune system and inflammation...
