Find out in this video. 0:00 Introduction: Can I drink alcohol on keto? 0:32 Side effects of alcohol 1:19 Alcohol and ketosis 1:42 Thanks for watching! In this video, we’re going to take a look at some of the effects of alcohol on keto. Even though some types of alcohol contain zero carbs, you should still avoid alcohol on keto. Alcohol acts as a toxin in your liver. It kills your liver cells and even kills your brain cells. Alcohol leads to a fatty liver which causes inflammation and can eventually lead to cirrhosis. Cirrhosis is very difficult, if not impossible to reverse. Alcohol depletes B vitamins and dehydrates you. Alcohol also stops fat burning and kicks you out of ketosis! After drinking alcohol, you’re not going to burn fat for at least 48 hours. Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 58, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting.
