What Is Premature Ejaculation? Premature ejaculation is when a man ejaculates before he and his partner are able to complete the sexual act. It doesn't allow either of them to fully enjoy the experience of sexual intercourse. Sometimes, this condition can be severe if the man ejaculates just at the sight of his partner before the action can really get started. In most cases, it occurs after one or two coital thrusts. What Is the Cause of Premature Ejaculation? It's possible that a low testosterone level could be the reason that a man's penile organs begin to malfunction. When a man is tired, it is likely to cause orgasmic disorder or premature ejaculation although these aren't likely to be the main causes of this condition. Several medical conditions lead to orgasmic disorders. These include multiple sclerosis, diabetes mellitus and heart disease. Hormonal imbalances and medications for psychiatric conditions and high blood pressure also contribute to premature ejaculation. Poor health in general may be the reason that you are experiencing this condition. Organic Causes Damage to the nerves associated with the penis can be the cause of erectile dysfunction. Heart disease, emphysema, cancer, high blood pressure and kidney disease can prevent the erectile processes from working efficiently. If you have an endocrine disorder that prevents your body from producing enough testosterone, this can also be a cause of your sexual malfunctioning. Medications, illicit and legal, may also cause orgasmic disorders. Two examples are the tranquilizers Xanax and Valium. Several drugs, including medications for Parkinson's disease, anticonvulsants and the statins that lower cholesterol also reduce erectile functioning. Medications that suppress the central nervous system have been known to cause premature ejaculation. These include heroin and morphine, but it also means alcohol. In addition to suppressing the central nervous system, narcotics also prevent testosterone production. This lowers a man's sex drive, and leads him toward erectile dysfunction. The use of marijuana causes low libido and decreases your ability to function sexually. Cocaine use is a cause of premature ejaculation. In the beginning, some men experience an increase in their sexual pleasure on cocaine, but if you continue to take it repeatedly, you begin to need it in order to become aroused sexually. Normal Ejaculation Ordinarily, the process begins in the excitement phase. This is when the genital area fills with blood and causes the penis to become erect. Next, you enter the plateau phase where the sensations remain at the same level. Then, you reach the orgasmic phase. The organs in this area begin to contract and cause seminal fluid to collect at the base of the penis. As this fluid is collecting, you begin to experience the need to ejaculate. It feels as if nothing could stop the ejaculate from being released. When it is time, the contractions propel the semen forward and outside of the body. This creates very pleasurable feelings! When you are able to complete the sexual act in the amount of time that you would ordinarily like it to take, you enter the resolution phase after your orgasm. When this occurs, it takes two phases for you to lose your erection. In the first phase, it takes about one minute for the blood to rush out of the penis' organs. In the second phase, the corpus spongiosum releases the blood, and the testes and the scrotum return to their normal sizes. The Treatment for Premature Ejaculation No matter how hard you try to find it, solutions to this problem are very hard to find, but it is possible.
