This is a short video by Dr. Herb Riemenschneider, of Riverside Urology in Columbus, Ohio. www.RiversideUrology.com. He is a pioneer in helping patients deal with erectile dysfunction (ED). Dr. Herb worked with Dr. Brantley Scott at Baylor University on the research and development of the early inflatable penile prosthesis. He also participated in studies on Viagra, the first drug introduced for the treatment of ED. ED is the consistent inability to obtain and sustain an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse. It affects 1 in 4 men in the U.S. As a man becomes sexually aroused, the brain sends out signals which cause an erection. Chemistry has a large part to play in this event. When this complex system fails, sometimes caused by blood vessel disease, the diagnosis of diabetes or Peyronie’s disease, we first look to solutions like medications such as Viagra or Cialis. However, when medications fail, a penile prosthesis can be a an elegant solution for men plagued by medication resistant ED. This 8 minute video tells the story of how Dr. Herb manages ED in the 21st century.
