Find out in this video. 0:00 Introduction: Is keto only good short-term? 0:32 Essential nutrients 1:30 Acidosis and alkalosis 2:11 Healthy ketosis 2:43 What to eat on a ketogenic diet In this video, we’re going to talk about the ketogenic diet. Some people say that a keto diet is a short-term diet. One popular justification for this is that ketones are acidic, but there are many acidic components in a healthy diet. Essential nutrients are referred to as essential because your body can’t make them, you need to get them from food. The following acids are also essential nutrients: ● Essential fatty acids ● Amino acids ● Lactic acid ● Acidic foods like citrus, tomato, pineapple, etc. Your stomach, large intestine, and urine are also acidic, so you don’t have to worry about ketones causing any issues related to acid. The best ketogenic diet is the healthy version, also known as Healthy Keto. Healthy ketosis focuses on consuming 7 to 10 cups of vegetables each day, and a moderate amount of protein and healthy fats. If you follow this type of ketogenic diet, keto can be very beneficial long-term. Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 57, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting.
