In this video, weβre going to talk about the key foods to include on a ketogenic diet. These foods contain the key nutrients you need to stay healthy on keto. 1. Vitamin C is one of the most important nutrients for the keto diet because it helps repair the damage caused by high levels of sugar and insulin. Vitamin C is important for vision, artery health, kidney health, and the nervous system. Green bell peppers and sauerkraut are the best keto-friendly sources of vitamin C. 2. Omega-3 fatty acids from wild-caught salmon and fatty fish are essential on keto. 3. B vitamins are very important on keto, especially Vitamin B1. Sunflower seeds, pork, and nutritional yeast are among the best sources of vitamin B1. 4. Ensure adequate consumption of potassium and magnesium by consuming large quantities of vegetables, around 7 to 10 cups each day. Leafy green vegetables, avocadoes, and beet tops contain the most potassium and magnesium. 5. Iodine is an important trace mineral on a keto diet, especially for women. Seafood and sea kelp are the best sources. 6. Red meat and organ meat provide an excellent source of iron. 7. Phytonutrients are plant-based chemicals with unique health benefits.
