Apparently, CBD can help you focus better… Here we are not talking about eyesight, but mental focus – the ability to focus on a task. Most of us, at one point in time or another, have had trouble focusing on our work, for a multitude of reasons. We could be in constant pain that analgesics can’t deal with Yes, we can be distracted by others around us. We may have received some sad or upsetting news. We may have financial worries, or we could have problems with personal relationships. However, there can often be other underlying reasons for an inability to focus. Anxiety. Depression. PTSD. Now, with CBD being relatively new to the market and watertight research a little thin on the ground it is irresponsible of anyone to make any form of guaranteed claims about the efficacy and effectiveness of CBD. However, there appears to be an overwhelming body of research and anecdotal evidence which would strongly suggest that there are benefits to taking CBD for any of the above three underlying reasons. One of the reasons for depression is a lack of serotonin – that chemical that provides the ‘feelgood factor’. While CBD doesn’t increase levels of serotonin in the body, it does seem to affect how the body responds to it, making it seem that there is more seratoni8n than actually exists. Depression is often the result of constant stress, it is a symptom. Many recent studies into CBD have shown that CBD appears to effectively reduce levels of stress, which in turn can lead to a reduction in levels of depression. There is one apparent difference between pharmaceutical drugs and CBD, and that is the speed of perceived results, especially where depression is concerned. A common form of antidepressive drug is known as an SSRI – a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor – which usually takes at least 14 days before there are any noticeable effects. Results obtained from research on CBD-based products is that results are both fast and sustained. So, when you look at the bigger picture, it certainly looks like CBD could be very good for helping you focus, especially at work. However, we do recommend that you only take CBD on its own, and do not take it through smoking cannabis, as turning up totally stoned for work is unlikely to see you able to focus on your work, and you will also struggle to keep your job!!
