Low-Incidence Disabilities Transcripted Certificate
The Low-Incidence Disabilities Transcripted Certificate will prepare special educators and their colleagues in related fields (Counseling, Curriculum and Instruction, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Educational Leadership, Psychology, Reading and Secondary Education) with whom they will collaborate to provide evidence-based interventions to students with low incidence disabilities.
A series of three courses will prepare these scholars to provide high quality instruction utilizing principles of universal design, assistive technology, age-appropriate practice, and accessibility to academic and non-academic content areas. Participating educators will be prepared to promote greater independence among students with severe/multiple disabilities, autism, traumatic brain injuries and other conditions that require the most intensive individualized support needs.
