Sponsored Research Administration
The mission of the Division of Research and Innovation (R&I) is to facilitate and support the research endeavors of TAMUCC constituents. This is accomplished by providing administrative assistance in the preparation of research proposals through budget preparation, assembly, approval and submission of proposal documents as well as in the negotiation and acceptance of research awards. The Office of Sponsored Research Administration (OSRA) provides the fiscal framework necessary to receive, disburse and administer project funds.
- Raising the levels of grant-supported activity at TAMUCC
Through the coordination of all phases of proposal preparation, which includes compliance requirements, budget preparation, contract negotiation, establishment of accounts, and post-award administrative support, R&I strives to provide researchers at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi with the necessary tools to reach their desired goals.
- Fostering a culture of integration between sponsored research and academics
In collaboration with the Research Development Office and Compliance Office, the SRA staff assists in the preparation and submission of interdisciplinary proposals to augment the university's research capacity and securing extramural funding for our students.
- Providing training and professional development activities for faculty and staff
The office informs Principal Investigators and project directors of their roles and responsibilities as research administrators through individualized consultative visits, monthly training sessions and quarterly workshops that disseminate information about program administration, budget management, policy and procedures and award responsibility.
