Dr. Iltai Isaac Kim
Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering & Computing Science
Research Interests
- Microdroplet dynamics: thickness, dual profile (total internal reflection, reflection interference,3D ray tracing)
- Near-surface phenomena study: effective refractive index, nanoscale film thickness, stress, density.
- Ultra-sensitive, super-resolution, and three-dimensional surface plasmon resonance imaging coupled with hyperbolic metamaterials, ultrafast and nanoscale scanning.
- Nano-bio-chemical sensing and micro/nanoscale thermal-fluids applications using nano-biophotonics and M/NEMS technique.
- Thermal-fluids engineering: combustion (furnace, burner, fuel compatibility), heat exchanger (cooler, heat recovery), energy saving in plant
