About The Upward Bound Program
Upward Bound is a federally funded TRIO program through the United States Department of Education that provides fundamental support for participants to succeed in their high school performance and their preparation for college entrance. The program is split into two regions; Upward Bound Central Program (UBCP) and Upward Bound North Program (UBNP). UBCP and UBNP serve 60 high school students which are from low-income families in which neither parent holds a bachelor's degree. The overarching goal of UBCP is to increase the rate at which participants complete high school and enroll in and graduate from college. UBCP serves Moody High School and West OSO High School while UBNP serves Miller HS and Coles HS.
