Academic Coaching Program
Helping Islanders Navigate Success
The Academic Coaching Program cultivates a partnership with undergraduate Islanders to support their individualized learning and growth, contributing to a transformational student experience. We do this by incorporating Malcolm Knowles' Adult Learner Theory and Cognitive Behavior Theory (behavior intelligence) as we guide students through the transition from high school to post-secondary adult learning and current Islanders' academic recovery.
Success, Nothing Less
Islanders in the Academic Coaching Program are assigned an Academic Success Coach and a Peer Coach aligned with the College of their major. Our Academic Coaching team collaborates with students to formulate a success plan and establish goals in alignment with the plan. To be eligible for a Success Coach, Islanders in the Academic Coaching Program must meet specific criteria.
