Islander Ring

The Islander Alumni Association and the University unveiled the Official Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Ring in 1999. The Official Islander Ring is a symbol of achievement, unity and University spirit. At a glance, these meticulously-styled keepsakes will distinguish Texas A&M-Corpus Christi alumni from all others and serve as a lasting symbol of accomplishment.

Any Texas A&M-Corpus Christi undergraduate student with 75 or more completed hours (at least 25 at TAMU-CC) and graduate students with 25 or more completed hours qualify for the official Islander Ring. Completed hours are determined by the Registrar’s Office at the end of each semester and verified before ordering.

Islander Lei

One of the most unique experiences of attending Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is that it is the only university in the nation located on its own island. As a celebratory and congratulatory gesture, the Islander Lei has become a popular commencement tradition. With palm tree-lined pathways throughout the campus, natural wetlands, and a university beach, the Islander Lei represents the physical beauty of our Island University.

Prior to graduation, students purchase their Islander Lei to distinguish themselves as new members of the Islander Alumni Association. Before the ceremony, alumni members welcome students into the Islander Alumni family by presenting them with their Islander Lei. This makes graduation a fun and very colorful experience unlike any other!
