Residency Requirement
TAMU-CC is committed to helping Islanders be successful in college! Because of this, first-year students are required to live on campus for at least two semesters on the Island at Miramar.
Students who live on campus are more likely to:
- have a higher GPA
- be more involved on-campus
- use campus resources
- graduate in less time
- feel a sense of belonging that comes with living on campus
You are automatically exempt from this requirement and do not need to complete the Special Residency Requirement Exemption Form if:
- You graduated from high school more than twelve months before starting classes at the University; or
- You will be aged 21 or older as of September 1; or
- Your permanent address is inside of the following counties: Aransas, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Nueces, and San Patricio or inside the zip codes 78340 (Bayside) and 78393 (Woodsboro).
If you need to update your student information (permanent address, birthdate, etc.) you can do so here. You can find out more information about the Miramar property, select your preferred floor plan, and submit a housing application here.
