People with Disabilities: a Perspective
Technology is no longer a luxury. Technology is a necessity to function in the digital age. This makes EIR accessibility important. Consider the variety of uses:
- We communicate electronically.*
- We view and edit curriculum and degree plans electronically.
- We enroll in courses and pay tuition electronically.
- Many of our course offerings are available electronically.
- We are reducing our paper forms and providing them electronically.
- We are checking out upcoming events and adding them to our calendars electronically.
- During emergencies we provide our programs, services, and activities electronically.
* This includes providing translatable EIR to our multilingual community.
People with Disabilities
How can we help?
EIR is accessible when our entire community can use it equitably and independently. People with disabilities may use assistive technology with our EIR. If we create the EIR, we are responsible for following the technical accessibility standards. Those standards make the assistive technology work. When EIR is not accessible, we address accommodations.
