Below are some tips and samples you can use while writing your impact letter:

Tips for Writing a Scholarship Impact Letter:

• Write clearly and concisely.
• Double-check your letter for typos and grammatical errors or ask a friend to review it.
• Express enthusiasm.
• Be sincere.

Tips for a Great Photo:

• Dress your best! Job Interview attire or TAMU-CC shirt and colors work best.
• No filters: We want to see you!
• Pick a background that highlights you best.
• Show off your personality, but keep it professional!

A Step-by-Step Guide:

1. Greet the Donor
   • These letters will be shared with endowed scholarship donors.
     • All letter salutations should begin with “Dear Donor, “.

2. Express Gratitude
   • Write sincerely with an active voice!
   • Do not mention your scholarship by name.
     • Examples: “Thank you so much for your generosity.”, “It is an honor to be the recipient of this scholarship.”

3. Demonstrate Impact
   • Share how being a student at TAMU-CC is impacting your life and what you enjoy most.
   • Why did you choose TAMU-CC?
     • Example: “I chose to attend TAMU-CC because the university is close to home and has a great nursing program.”
   • What activities are you involved in?
     • Example: “I’m a member of the Student Volunteer Connection which is a community service organization. I like being in SVC because I get the opportunity to visit and volunteer at cool places all over Texas.”
   • What is an award/honor you’re proud of?
     • Example: “Last year, I made the Dean’s List in the fall and spring semesters!”
   • What are your interests outside of school?
     • Example: “On the weekends, I enjoy kayaking and exploring downtown.”

4. Looking Forward
   • Share your future plans: trips, activities, graduation, or prospective jobs/internships.
     • Example: “Next summer, I hope to participate in an internship program with XYZ Company!”

5. Thanks Again
   • Express gratitude one more time.
     • Example: “Thank you again for supporting scholarships at TAMU-CC!”

6. Signing Off
   • Close your letting by signing your name.
     • Example:

The Endowed Scholarship Banquet is an annual event exclusive to endowed scholarship recipients. This event is designed to give students the opportunity to connect with donors who have supported scholarships at the Island University.

Attendance at this event is not required but is strongly encouraged. The Endowed Scholarship Banquet is an opportunity to celebrate your achievements with those who have supported your dreams from afar. Our donors love meeting students like you and learning more about your goals, life, and experiences at TAMU-CC! Students invited to this special event will receive additional information at the beginning of the fall semester.
