Motor vehicle insurance
The Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) auto and motorized vehicle coverage does not cover the loss of accidents involving personal use and as such state-owned fleet vehicles should not be used for personal reasons.

To add or remove a vehicle from liability coverage:
Complete the Auto Liability Inventory Change Request Form.
To add and remove physical damage coverage to a vehicle:

To add liability coverage for non-owned equipment for short term duration:
Complete the Non-Owned Equipment Liability Form.
Should you have any questions regarding the adding/deleting of vehicles and equipment to the Auto Liability Plan, please contact Lori Barrera at lorena.barrera@tamucc.edu or 361-825-5555.
Student Groups / Volunteers
Students, student groups, or any users of TAMUCC vehicles have no liability insurance coverage under the fleet insurance plan and are not to drive university vehicles. The TAMUS Self-Insured Automobile liability coverage extends only to employees driving university vehicle under the scope of their employment.
State Contracted Rental Vehicle:
When employees are traveling with student groups in state-contracted rental vehicles, Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) must be purchased since students are not protected under the State Workman’s Compensation Act.
