Second-Third Graders

The reading enrichment program will accept the first 40 registrants.

The Reading Camp aims to improve the reading and writing abilities of 2nd and 3rd grade students. Individualized programs are created for each child based on diagnostic testing of their reading skills. Small groups of students work with university tutors for 60 minutes, Monday through Thursday during the summer session. The tutors receive professional training in reading instruction methods like phonological awareness, phonics, and reading comprehension. The goal of the camp is to provide focused, individualized reading and writing instruction to help students enhance their literacy skills. Students are grouped based on skill level and work closely with the tutors over the course of the program. The camp utilizes the expertise of university students to provide research-based and engaging instruction tailored to each child's needs.

Fourth-Sixth Graders

This summer program is designed specifically for upper elementary students to dive into the world of content reading and writing while having fun and expanding their knowledge. Throughout the program, students will embark on exciting literary adventures, exploring a variety of topics from science and history to nature and art. Through carefully selected reading materials, students will enhance their comprehension skills while discovering fascinating facts and stories. Through interactive writing activities, students will have the opportunity to express their creativity, share their thoughts, and develop their writing skills. This program encourages students to become confident and expressive writers.
