Research in our lab is focused on the discovery, understanding and conservation of fish diversity. Our systematic projects offer best determinations of species diversity and put that diversity into an evolutionary context using current morphological and molecular methods. Much recent work has centered on population genetics to better assess diversity within species, information essential for sound conservation and management decisions. We are also studying the influence of diversity on the ecology of coral reef fishes. More information on specific research projects is available at the links to the left.
