College of Science PhD Student Travel Grants
Students are encouraged to present their research at major regional, national,
and international conferences. To expand the reach and impact of college
resources, the COS PhD Student Travel Grant will provide up to $500 in travel
support for graduate students presenting their research at major meetings and
conferences. Students may apply for one travel grant per budget year (September
1 – August 31) for domestic or international travel.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must have a $100-$500 match already secured from the applicant’s faculty mentor/department or another acceptable source. These funds are matched on a 1:1 (dollar for dollar) basis. Maximum COS match $500.
- Must be presenting research or a creative activity that they have authored/co-authored. It must have been accepted for presentation. If acceptance is pending, students can still apply, but the final award is contingent upon acceptance for presentation. Students who are merely attending a meeting without any active participation are ineligible for travel award funding.
Applications must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the start of travel.
