What is T2/Flex? This is the new parking system being implemented on campus, starting Spring 2020. The new system utilizes License Plate Recognition (LPR) similar to Texas Toll roads for vehicle registration and parking enforcement.
What is the TAMU-CC Parking Portal? The TAMU-CC Parking Portal is a web-based system where faculty, staff, and students can purchase/renew a parking permit and register up to two vehicles.
How do I pay for a new/renewal permit? Payments for new or for renewal of parking permits can be done through the TAMU-CC Parking Portal. Faculty and staff have the option to pay using a credit card, debit card, or through payroll deductions. Students have the option to pay using a credit card, debit card, or through S.A.I.L.
Do I still need to use a hangtag? No. A vehicle that has been registered through the TAMU-CC Parking Portal has the right to park on campus, in the lot permitted (Surface Lot, Garage Lot, or Momentum Campus Lot). The T2/Flex software uses License Plate Recognition to validate a vehicle is registered.
What about my current hangtag? Once you have registered your vehicle(s) in the TAMU-CC Parking Portal a hangtag is no longer required and can be thrown away.
Can I register more than one vehicle for one permit? You can register up to two vehicles on your permit, however, only one vehicle can be parked on campus at a time. If you are to leave campus and return in your second registered vehicle, the LPR vehicle will scan to verify that only one vehicle is on campus. No citation is given if you are to swap vehicles during the day as long as vehicle is registered.
What if I only have temporary tags? You are still able to register your vehicle when updating your vehicle information, or purchasing a parking permit. When your state license plate comes in you are able to access TAMU-CC Parking Portal to make any changes to your vehicle.
What if I am using a rental?
You are able to enter your rental vehicle information in the TAMU-CC Parking Portal, or contact Parking at (361) 825-PARK (7275) and they can add it for you.
What if I bring someone else's car, mine is in the shop?
You are able to add the vehicle information into the TAMU-CC Parking Portal, or contact Parking at (361) 825-PARK (7275) and they can add it for you. If you are utilizing a vehicle temporarily the permit can be set up to only have the vehicle active until desired date expires.
What is the difference between ParkMobile and the TAMU-CC Parking Portal? ParkMobile is a pay as you Park application intended for use by campus visitors. The TAMU-CC Parking Portal replaces the campuses current permitting process by allowing the for vehicle registration and parking enforcement.
What is the fee for the parking permits? The current fees are available on our website.
What is the Islander Shuttle? A free shuttle service between the Momentum Campus and the Island Campus.
How often does the Islander Shuttle run? The Islander Shuttle departs Momentum campus every 10 minutes from 7:30 A.M.-1:00 P.M. and departs Momentum Campus every 20 minutes from 1:00 P.M.-7 P.M. The Islander Shuttle runs Monday-Friday during the Fall and Spring semesters.
Where does the Islander Shuttle pickup/drop off at? The Islander Shuttle has a single stop on both the Momentum and Island Campus. The Island Campus stop is located on Ocean Drive in front of the University Services Center. The Momentum Campus stop is located across Islander Way from the Rec Sports fields.
Is there a specific bus number or route designated for the shuttle when leaving campus?
Bus number 60. Bus number 93-Flex also travels between the TAMU-CC campus bus stop and Momentum campus along its normal route.
Do I have to pay to ride the shuttle or city bus?
All faculty, staff, and students can present their SandDollar$ ID card for free transportation.
Where can I Park if I am taking the bus to ride to an Athletics game?
All are permitted to park in Sanddollar lot, located on the east side of campus if you are to utilize this space for transportation, the vehicle must be relocated off campus after the game has completed. only for games at ABC: Campus Map
Where do I park at Momentum to utilize the shuttle?
You may park at the Momentum lot which is adjacent to the Rec Sports fields on Islander Way.
How much does it cost to park at Momentum?
A parking permit fee for one semester is $12 or $23 for two semesters (Fall and Spring).
Can I use my Momentum permit to park on the main TAMU-CC campus?
No, the Momentum permit is sold at a discounted price and is only authorized for parking your vehicle at the Momentum lot, and riding the shuttle services.
Is there Wi-Fi at the bus stops and on the shuttle?
Wi-Fi is available at the bus stop and on the bus.
Is my general or garage permit to park and ride the Momentum Shuttle, valid to park at Momentum Lot? Yes.
What can I do if I miss the last bus back to Momentum at night?
The last Islander Shuttle picks up at 7:30 P.M., however, until 11:00 P.M. you can call 833-RTA-FLEX and request the 93-Flex Bus to Momentum campus.

Where can I purchase a parking permit?
You can purchase a parking permit by visiting the TAMU-CC Parking Portal.
Can I change the type of parking permit I have?
Yes, until the 12th day of class. After the 12th day you can only swap up a permit to a higher level. After the 12th day of class NO REFUND is authorized unless an official withdrawal has taken place, and then only when UPD is notified by the Registrar’s Office of a withdrawal. Refunds may take up to 14 days to process.
Can I purchase a second permit?
Yes, the full fee applies. if you are to purchase a second permit, that is the only time two vehicles under your account are allowed to be on campus.
Do residents have to purchase a parking permit?
Yes, residents residing in the Islander housing complex on the main TAMU-CC campus, and Momentum Village who drive and park a vehicle will need a permit. Miramar residents are encouraged to park in the housing areas and walk to class.
If I am a resident and am having visitors over where can they park?
All residents who have visitors over with their own vehicles, must register with ParkMobile APP and pay a small fee, if they expect to be parked on the campus with the exception of Weekends, starting Friday 7 P.M. - until Monday 8 A.M., and University recognized holidays. If you have visitors over during the week they must pay to park. No Exceptions.
I am a contractor/vendor, where do I get a permit for working on campus?
You must come into the University Police Department and register for a permit. You will be directed as to where you can park in order to complete your services. All applicable rules of parking apply to contractors, vendors.
I am a disabled veteran; can I get a free parking permit?
That depends if you meet the state requirements. You will need to contact the University Police Department for verification and approval.
I don’t come to campus often due to my course schedule, or I am a visitor. Do I still need a permit to park?
Yes, if you are going to park in any parking lot you must have a valid permit, or have paid via ParkMobile APP pay on demand parking. Further info regarding Parkmobile APP can be found on the ParkMobile FAQ web page.
What can I do to avoid a parking citation if I can’t afford to purchase one?
You can register for a parking permit, and either choose to pay immediately when registering on the TAMU-CC Parking Portal with credit card, or if you are a student you can have the fee sent to your S.A.I.L./BANNER account. This will allow you additional time if needed to make payment.
I received a parking citation, what do I do at this point?
If you purchase a permit, the first $25 citation for not having a permit, expired permit, or permit not displayed is dismissed. If you have more than one of these citations, the remaining citations can be reduced to $5 each or you can appeal the additional citations. If you lose your appeal you pay the full $25 fine, you cannot decide to take the $5 reduction. If you wish to appeal a citation, go to the appeals page on the TAMU-CC Parking Portal, or if you have problems with portal you can go the University Police website and submit the appeal within 14 days of the citation being issued. You should receive a decision back in approximately two weeks that will be made by the University Judicial Committee.
I received a parking citation, but the car is not mine?
If a vehicle is not registered through the TAMU-CC Parking Portal and received a citation, the registered owner will be receiving a letter in the mail advising them of the citation. You are able to add up to 2 vehicles on the Parking Portal.
How many parking spaces are on the main TAMU-CC campus? Approximately 6,000.
Where can I park with a General Parking Pass? On the campus map. any of the green areas are for general permit holders. All of the parking lots outside of the Bayside Parking Garage, on both sides of campus. Exception the Miramar residential parking areas. General permit holders are not allowed to park in the Miramar parking lots.
When is there free parking on campus?
Free parking is authorized each weekend starting on Friday evenings starting at 7:00 P.M. until 8:00 A.M. Monday mornings. Parking will be free on University designated holidays and special events as designated by the President and or Vice President for Finance and Administration.
Why are parking lots or spaces blocked off and no one allowed to park in them some day's?
Designated special events may require a parking lot or spots to be cleared early in the day for a later event.
Can I park in the white striped areas at the end of rows?
No, these areas are for access and control for emergency vehicles, such as fire trucks and ambulances.
Can I park in the general parking lots with my garage hangtag?
Yes, but you are encouraged to utilize the garage parking, which frees up spaces for those who have general permits and commute to the campus.
Do you have handicap parking on campus?
Yes, handicap parking spaces can be found on our campus map.
I see people using handicap spaces and they don’t look like they have a disability, why are they allowed to utilize the spaces?
Each person’s disability is different and may not be a physical impairment.
My car won’t start, tire is flat, and or I locked my keys in the vehicle, what do I do?
The University Police Department will perform free jump starts and vehicle unlocks (waiver must be signed). Flat tires cannot be changed by the University Police Department due to liability. We can provide information for towing services. Vehicles may not be repaired on campus unless minor in nature. Dial 825-4242 for additional information.
I had a minor accident on campus, what do I do?
Check for injuries and render assistance if possible. Contact the University Police Department at (361) 825-4444 or call 911. We will dispatch an officer to make a report and render assistance. If you are on a road way and you are capable of moving your vehicle, it is the law to move off to a safe area.
