The Study Abroad Office supports all genders studying abroad. Commonly held gender norms vary from culture to culture, and they may differ from your own experiences and beliefs when abroad. We encourage you to research the country of your study abroad program and learn more about gender roles in your program location, and to be aware of the challenges that non-male presenting individuals may encounter.

Study Abroad welcomes all students who meet eligibility requirements to participate in an approved study abroad program. It is a matter of student safety for everyone to understand the experiences of students with different identities while studying abroad. The Study Abroad Office encourages all students to educate themselves about these experiences and challenges, and the resources available for improved individual and group safety.

The Study Abroad Office supports students of all races and ethnicities studying abroad. Many students of color study abroad without any issues; however, perceptions of your identity may vary from how you are perceived in the U.S. You may experience discrimination unexpectedly, or more intensely abroad. We encourage you to research your the social and cultural climate of the country in which you will study abroad to best provide you with strategies and support.

The Study Abroad Office supports student veterans and active duty personnel studying abroad. In most cases, student can use their veteran's benefits for credit-bearing courses that are part of their degree plan if tuition is paid directly to TAMU-CC, such as with faculty-led programs.
