All new first-year students (freshmen) must complete Islander Launch orientation before registering for classes at TAMU-CC.
SUMMER AND FALL 2025 orientation options for incoming first-year students (freshmen) are listed below. Please do not make travel plans until your event date is confirmed.

How much does it cost to register for Islander Launch? The non-refundable fee of $85 per student is deferred at the time of reservation and billed as part of the fall tuition bill, even if you decide not to enroll at TAMU-CC.
What does the orientation fee cover? The fee covers all costs of offering an orientation program, including meals, parking, materials, and event staffing.
Do I have to repeat the requirement if I completed an orientation program in a different semester? If you have been readmitted to the university and attended classes in a previous semester, you do not have to complete orientation again.
Is it possible for me to register for classes without completing orientation? No, a registration hold is placed on new student accounts, which will not be removed until after completing the Islander Launch (orientation) requirement.
Which Islander Launch orientation date should I choose? We encourage you to attend the earliest available date that works with your schedule.
What if the orientation date I want to attend is not available? You must choose a different available date shown in the reservation portal.
I am a student starting classes in Summer I or Summer II. Which orientation should I attend? The May 30 event is designed for summer admits, but you will see other options when you log in to complete your reservation if that date does not work for you.
I am a PSA (Program for System Admission) student. Which orientation should I attend? PSA students are limited to the June 3, June 27, and July 8 event dates.

How long is the event? Plan to be on campus all day (8a-5p). A detailed schedule will be shared when it is available.
Can I leave the event early? No, you must attend all sessions and check-out at the end of the day to meet the orientation requirement.
When can I register for classes? You will confirm your classes with the help of an Academic Advisor during the afternoon of your event.
