Educator Certification
Undergraduate and Field-Based
If you are working toward a bachelor's degree and want to become a certified teacher, our Educator Preparation Program prepares you for certification. Coursework focuses on two major elements: expertise in your major (content area) and expertise in the practice of teaching (professional development).
Your training will also include two semesters of field experience. You will spend the first semester field-based at a local school three full days a week. During the second semester, you will student teach at the school site five full days a week. You will student teach in the grade level and teaching area of your specialization.

If you have already completed the corresponding bachelor's degree, all of these certifications are also available via our Master's and Certification program at the elementary or secondary levels.
