TAMUCC Holidays FY 2024

A&M System employees generally receive from 12 to 15 holidays each year. The state legislature determines the number of holidays, and the A&M System Board of Regents approves the specific days based on the recommendations of each A&M System Member chief executive officer.

Employee Betterment Program

The Employee Betterment Program will cover 100%(*) of current resident tuition costs for up to 18 credit hours per fiscal year at TAMUCC. This program is available to employees who have been in a budgeted regular status for three months prior to the start of classes. Standard fees are waived; consequently, EBP participants will not have access to student services funded by the waived fees. The purpose of the Employee Betterment Program (EBP) is to provide budget, and regular employees with funds to cover TAMUCC tuition costs. The program aims to encourage faculty and staff to further their education.

(*) 50% for budgeted regular part-time status

TAMUS Doctoral Tuition Program

The TAMUS Doctoral Tuition Program will cover 100% of tuition costs for a doctoral program at any A&M System university. The program is limited to regular employees who are admitted to a doctoral program, are in good standing, and making progress toward degree completion.

Dorothy Yeater Scholarship

The Staff Council offers this scholarship to support the academic achievement of staff members and the overall mission and goals of the University. A select number of full-time, benefits-eligible staff members will receive a SandDollar credit to be used at the Campus Store. The Scholarship selection is made by the Dorothy Yeater Memorial Scholarship Selection Committee.

Immigration Services at TAMU-CC has been moved to Texas A&M Immigration Affairs Shared Services. Effective September 1, all immigration employment matters (new and pending) should be submitted to immigration@tamu.edu or you can contact Immigration Shared Services at 979-862-1719. W-2 Information for Electronic Accessday Laws.

Employees, both current and former, will be able to access their W-2s online in Workday as follows: Access via the Pay Worklet in Workday

Log into Single Sign-On at sso.tamus.edu using your UIN and password. Be sure to select the TAMUS UIN logo (see below) to sign in with your assigned UIN
Click the Workday option.

Click the “Pay” Worklet on the employee dashboard.

In the “View” box click on “My Tax Documents”.

Your W-2 will be listed on the next page for you to view and print as needed.

Access via the Employee Profile in Workday:

Select the "Pay" category" in the blue sidebar of the employee profile.

Select the "Tax Documents" tab to view the W-2 for tax year 2022.

Screening applicants: best methods and handy tips

Screening applicants involves reviewing resumes and cover letters, verifying qualifications, and assessing the candidate's experience and skills. Effective screening can include phone interviews, assessments, on-site interviews, video interviews, background checks, and job trials. Regular evaluation of the screening process can enhance its effectiveness.

Hiring proposals now require a minimum of three (3) references.
- Most of the references must come from current or previous supervisors.
The ‘Confirm New or Rehire” step in the hire process will no longer be approved by HR unless the background check has been cleared.
All departments/colleges are now responsible for making final offers to their candidates.
The supervisor may designate someone else within the department to make the final offer if needed.
Job descriptions must contain the following:
- At least three (3) functional areas
- Percent effort next to each functional area

Making Workday Work for You: Learn to use Workday

Workday Help supports the Workday application by providing our users with just-in-time information for learning to use Workday. The learning hubs provide targeted training resources for specific Workday functionality. Edit Payment Elections

This job aid outlines the process for an Employee to edit their own payment elections outside of the onboarding process.

Payment Elections are separated into Payroll and Expense. Payroll represents the Employee’s paycheck. Expense represents reimbursement payments made to the Employee.
