Translating Language
Our community is diverse. We speak several languages. We are also a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI). Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi complies with Texas Administrative Code 206.71, Translation.
Examples:
- Should a Spanish version of audio or video content be published alongside an English version?
- Should a Spanish version of a training course be developed alongside an English version?
Equitable experience
Spanish versions of content are not always just translating the text on a document. While text-heavy images are not recommended, they are common for infographics and data visualizations. A separate Spanish version of those images should be created to provide an equitable experience. A Spanish version of a video should be created to provide an equitable experience. A plain text Spanish version is not an equitable experience.
