Canvas Resources for Students

Canvas is a web-based learning management system (LMS) designed to support fully online courses or provide a space for face-to-face course supplementation. Canvas provides many types of tools and features for enriching the learning experience. 

Canvas is TAMU-CC's supported web-based teaching and learning platform. Canvas is used by your instructors to teach blended and fully online courses. For face-to-face courses, Canvas may be used to enhance online activities and resources. The platform allows you access your course materials and activities, submit assignments and take tests, connect and share experiences with other students and instructors, and finally, find the support that will help you be a successful Islander anytime and anywhere! 

Log in to Canvas

  • Access Canvas at canvas.tamucc.edu 

  • Use your IslandID and password (same credentials used to access your university email). 

Technical Support

  • Canvas includes 24/7 Support for students. Use the "Help" menu option once you are logged into Canvas to connect with Canvas support via Chat or phone. 
  • If you are having difficulties logging in, contact the contact IT Service Desk at 361-825-2692 or submit a a ticket at serviceportal.tamucc.edu.

Prepare your computer

To ensure your computer runs Canvas properly on either PC or MAC view the Canvas Technical Requirements page. 

  • NOTE: Your computer may operate fine without preparation; however, the information is provided for optimal performance.
