Mission:
The Center for Academic Student Achievement (CASA) is committed to providing students academic support services through student-centered, supplemental, lifelong learning opportunities to help students achieve independence in learning in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Vision:
The Center for Academic Student Achievement's vision is to assist in closing educational gaps by Integrating, Engaging, Motivating, Retaining, and Graduating students through academic support and mentoring services.
Goals:
- Provide programs and academic support services for all students.
- Improve student engagement through academic integration into the University.
- Provide a student-centered learning environment to promote independent learning.
- Empower students to navigate higher education to achieve academic success.
Tutoring & Learning Services
CASA provides tutoring, supplemental instruction (SI), structured learning assistance, (SLA), and Writing Center assistance to students seeking academic support.
Islanders can make appointments for tutoring, SI, or the Writing Center online through our TracCloud Portal(traccloud.tamucc.edu).

Mentoring
First Islander Scholars' Academy (FISA) is a Center for Academic Student Achievement (CASA) initiative to provide additional support to first-generation college students. For the purpose of First Islander Scholars’ Academy, first-generation students are defined as first-time college students whose parents’ highest level of education is a high school diploma or less.
