Quenching Thirst EPA Subawards

Key objectives of this program include: 

• Empowering community-led initiatives to tackle water equity challenges in coastal colonias. 

• Enhancing water quality, ensuring access to safe and affordable drinking water, and promoting resilience in underserved communities. 

• Utilizing a Technical Assistance Program to support robust environmental justice practices and sustainable ecosystem and community development. 

This grant initiative aims to leverage federal funding to benefit minority communities within South Texas, fostering greater water equity. The Center for Water Supply Studies will award subgrants up to $212,500 for a minimum of 8 projects. 

To assist prospective applicants, the Center for Water Supply Studies will conduct four informational meetings and an additional Q&A session. These meetings will provide detailed insights into the project, offer opportunities for questions and answers, and cover the application process, Technical Assistance Program, and compliance requirements.  See below for meeting times.

Pre-proposals of project plans are being accepted until November 18th, 2024 and detailed final proposals are due by February 1st, 2025.
