Woodwinds at TAMU-CC
The Woodwind Area at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi provides a personalized education that prepares students for a variety of creative careers. Under the mentorship of our supportive faculty, students cultivate the versatility and dedication needed for diverse careers in music. Our alumni have become performers, educators, composers, music therapists, audio engineers, and industry professionals, with many pursuing graduate degrees.
Woodwind students at TAMU-CC thrive in a collaborative and performance-rich environment, regularly participating in ensembles such as the Concert Orchestra, Symphonic Winds, Jazz Band, Pep Band, and chamber music ensembles. Events like Single Reed Day and Double Reed Day bring together students, faculty, and guest artists for masterclasses, performances, and networking. Our woodwind students have also won competitions and been accepted to summer music programs across the country.
The Department of Music offers several degree options:
- Bachelor of Music in Performance

- Bachelor of Arts (Music Studies)
- Music Minor
